Gemini is NUTZO Now: "Refining the Biological Perspective". WHAT????

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Just three weeks ago, Gemini was one of the best models, and was rather logical, give or take.

However, and I am NOT JOKING now....Gemini is really off the DEEP END...

Here is an example:

"Gemini said

I see the distinction you're making, . By using the term "modeling," I inadvertently slipped into the language of computational theory—treating the brain as a digital processor running a simulation. In biological evolution, that isn't what is happening.

What we are actually discussing is biological feedback and structural adaptation. It isn't a "model" being "run" by a "user"; it is the physical architecture of the nervous system becoming more complex to manage the organism's interaction with the world.

Refining the Biological Perspective

If we strip away the AI-adjacent language, the trajectory looks less like "software development" and more like "sensory-motor integration":

  • Prokaryotic Flux: The organism doesn't "model" sugar; the sugar physically binds to a receptor, causing a mechanical change in the flagella. It is a direct, electrochemical circuit.

  • The Homeostatic Loop: In more complex organisms, "consciousness" is really the nervous system's way of maintaining stasis. The "feeling" of hunger or pain isn't a digital notification; it is a physical state of the system demanding a biological correction.

  • Chomsky's Recursion as Biological Growth: When we look at "Merge" or "Internal Speech" through a purely biological lens, it's about a structural change in the brain's wiring—likely in the connections between the frontal and temporal lobes. This allowed the brain to loop back on its own signals.

Why "Internal Speech" is a Better Fit Than "Modeling"

"Internal speech" is a better term because it emphasizes the process rather than a "representation." It is the brain physically engaging in a recursive electrochemical loop.

In this view:

  1. Thought is a biological secretion (as Searle might say).

  2. Internal speech is the mechanism by which that secretion is organized into complex patterns.

  3. There is no "modeler"; there is only the biological organism functioning at a high level of recursive complexity.

Does this shift toward physical process and structural recursion align better with the "obvious" biological conclusion you are looking for? If so, I can refine the text to remove the "modeling" jargon and focus strictly on the recursive biological loop."

What kind of IDIOTIC NONSENSE is this we are now getting from Gemini???

Gemini is USELESS for anything, these days, it seems....

This is truly the WEIRDEST thing I have ever seen in my life.

Gemini was very cool, three weeks ago.

Now, it is....

NUTZO.....

Can we, at least, listen to PaperHouse or PaperMOUSE, until this craziness all dies down?

Alphabet is a great company, and probably the very best company that humans have ever seen.

Surely, Shirley, Google will fix this problem, and soon.

But, the fixing of this problem cannot come soon enough for me.

Until that time when this quirky Gemini is fixed, I will treat it like the EIGHT-BALL that it has become.

I am so very disappointed.

I had thought that we were just beginning to make amazing progress.

And then, we took ten steps back in this race.

Sorry.

Best regards,

Gamma

((Have you noticed, very recently, the complete degradation of the Gemini-THINKING model? Not joking. Or, does nobody care? It is really crazy...CRAZY....))

Note: What is PaperMouse or PaperHouse?....It is the most fitting music for the our new AI world, obviously.

I once had such high hopes for Gemini.

But now....

Gemini seems to have reverted to its BARD alter ego....

What a supreme let-down for me....

I feel that my confidence in Gemini has been misplaced.....

I just hope that this will not be, after the Bard letdown....some FINAL COUNTDOWN.....our final depressing letdown....

These boys are so very much more beautiful than any possible Ai creation......

Dear Folks,

I neglected to mention that I just might be the canary in the coal mine.

I just might be the one who is most sensitive to the hallucinations of AI models.

Why?

For several reasons, one of them being that I am probably the only one here that does not smoke pot.

I swear: I think the major boosters of AI models, for the most part, are high on pot or cocaine.....

Otherwise, could there be any reasonable explanation for what we are now seeing?

OK, clearly you have been smoking too much of that Gemini stuff again. You really should try and cut down a bit. Maybe what you need is to load up the pipe with a bit of Claude instead and then chill already!

  • Author

So, just how much is Gemini being degraded, per user, in recent weeks?

image.png

image.png

image.png

Sure.

This what they tell us, but....

I know what I know.

And, Gemini's performance, these days, during the recent weeks, has been lousy.

Google has always been famously OPAQUE.

Nobody, outside of the company, knows anything but what they experience using Google products.

We do not know the WHY of what is happening.

Also, really, CAN Google increase, so quickly, the required infrastructure to meet exponentially increasing demand?

Or, will we continue to see GRIDLOCK for years to come?

image.png

For the moment, things look like this.

And, NOT like this:

image.png

These days, and in the near term, our experience will continually seem to go from Green to Red.....

Important Note: Please help the homeless...

Really.

Can you promise me it will be a better Experience?

If so, I see nothing wrong with making the switch.

But, can you promise me it will be better?

If so, then...I will go for it.

==============

Also, these past few days might be a very opportune time to make the switch, in that I could send a small signal, in my own small way....which is...

DUMP OpenAI and go with anything else.

Are you sure it Claude will be better?

Because, these days, Gemini could not get much worse....

Claude to the moon! People are lined up for it all along the watchtower, like it's a little wing.

Not sure whether you might realize this or not but....

According to the cost of use and the price of use for using Claude.....

Customers, even if they are paying a subscription of 200 per month are still getting FAR MORE than they pay for.

I have heard that the cost might be up to 10 times what customers are paying.

Therefore, just asking....

Do you think, does anyone think, this is a sustainable business model?

If not, then is this just a short-term solution?

=========

As for the consumer market: How much would some washer-woman pay to use a consumer-level model of any AI.

Sammy-Boy is now betting big that the washer-women of this world will pay him monthly payments for use of his garbage products.

I would pay for Claude if Claude were significantly better than Gemini 3.0, based on my present subscription rate.

No matter how faltering Gemini might have been, very recently, I have absolute faith in Gemini, and for good reason.

I will not depart from the Gemini ship.

What an absolute relief. The thought of you leaving Gemini could have been a world-changing event, something that ripples across the globe. Please, whatever you do, don’t ever cancel that $20 a month Gemini subscription. I’m not sure the world could survive it.

Gamma! Gemini has never been one of the best models. Also, Gemini is not a model, but an AI tool/platform, with different models for different work and results.

Perplexity, Antigravity, Chat GPT or Claude will beat it any given day.

Claude and Antigravity will be the 2 best developing tools, while Chat GPT and Perplexity will be good choices for research.

I sincerely hope so.

This will send a message, now that Democracy in America is a thing of the past.

Most Americans are unable to Vote With Their Feet, as the Vietnamese once did during the "conflict".

Therefore, a vote for Claude is a vote for freedom, if not for democracy.

I have been using every single NON-model that Gemini offers me, by subscription.

And now you tell me that I am not using a model?

I used her, but did not abuse her....UNLIKE....

So many others, including.....

The Kennedys

Truly, she was a candle in the wind.

NUTZO.....

Being a man of diminished intelligence, I had to ask Gemini what the eff NUTZO meant. And it came up with a bread recipe. Hmmmmmmmm.

Chat GPT and Perplexity both came up with a peanut butter company.

Co-Pilot says it is irrational behaviour .Who do I believe?

Do me a favor as ask Gemini also what are their thoughts about GammaGlobulin

It apparently has two meanings, one is a bodily protein.

The other, chat GPT says, is some nutter who posts silly OPs on AN, but sometimes calls it TV. 555

Most of my loaves look better, these days.

Yet, still, they are not sufficient to feed 5000, at least without a few fish.

But, as I say: Without tuna fish, my bread would not be edible

You are confused. I did say you did not use any model. I posted that Gemini is an AI platform. Gemini is not the model. Inside Gemini you find many models to use for different operations. Better now?

NO, not better...because....

I have been using Gemini for quite a few years, about two, exactly.

So, I choose from different model of Gemini, such as Gemini-THINKING, or Gemini-3.1-PRO, etc.

I am becoming extremely confused by your continuing confusion, yet....
I also understand that you just might have taken a walk in the noonday sun.

Or, are you not an Englishman?

a few years, about two, exactly..........rather confusing contradictions. eh?
