Transfer money from Germany to Thailand - WU, Wise or Remitly?

Featured Replies

I have to transfer repeating amounts (roughly 1,000 Euro) to my Thai bank account.

Ideally, it should be from German bank account to Thai bank account. But another option is fine.

Which service gives the best rates, lowest fees and is easy to use / register?

Only you can say, as first, what's the fee, if any, your DE bank charges + fee your TH bank will charge vs other options. Bank to bank, I wouldn't concern myself too much about exchange rate. Other vendors may be more or less competitive + any fees incurred.

TH BBL for instance is (2.5%) or ฿200-฿500 (min/max fee) for incoming transfers, I think.

If using for visa requirements (monthly income), make sure the service has 'credit advice' tracking, showing as international source.

Do you an address in Germany as proof of residence or Thailand address "only"?

Makes a big difference in giving advice regarding registering.

In the past I would have said WISE is best and cheapest.

But they obviously plan changes in May which might render it useless for my purpose (proof of money transfer for immigration).

Pity you transfer small amounts, as opposed to say 10k at a time, for which I find Commerzbank to be optimal.
