Falling in love with a student's mother: Ever happened to you?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

I have heard stories of attraction between teachers and students' mothers.

Has this ever happened to you?

How do you handle this, when a student's mother begins to show special interest in you?

If she is super hot, then do you egg her on?

Or, do you put your foot down?

Some students' mothers come into classroom scantily clad, and even tattooed, if you can even believe it.

This never happened, back in the day.

Many years ago, everything was so prim, just like any first-grade teacher should be.

These days, though, the mothers of students are less passive then they once were.

And so, they sometimes exercise their new-found "freedom" to flirt with their son's or daughter's teacher.

This has never happened to me, though I have read a few stories, and I have also listened to a few accounts from teachers I know.

How do you handle this type of thing, in the most diplomatic way, when it happens to you?

Or, do you just "give in" and not become overly punctilious about what seems to have become normative behavior, these days?

On the other hand, if a student's mother is divorced, then you might be able to fill in the gap, and do great good.

So much to think about, concerning this Topic.

What are your opinions, please.

Thank you.

Educationally yours,

Gamma Globulin

NOTE: This Topic derives from real-world events that many have witnessed. Human behavior, by which we mean all cognitive behavior, is varied. And, nobody has the right to be overly judgmental, without first examining themselves...IMHO....
