So Mister America does it again and all countries suffer.

I actually see that as a good thing. Highlighting how some countries need to be a bit more independent, and stop relying on imports. More a wake up call, rather than a negative.

People should be thanking Mr A, as maybe they'll prep for the next M.E.crisis, or worse, if any one country actually did get control, then you'd be at their mercy.

I completely agree with you, Trump have given us a valuable lesson, but still, he is a Don, using mafia tactics,

No argument from me. Like a couple of his policies, but dislike the rest. Sadly, still better than his predecessors.

I do not use petrol.

I use vegetable oil, such as extra virgin olive oil, and sunflower oil.

Probably about once every 4 months, then I do go for a drive.

But, only in an EV.

I just hope that the electric power remains on because...This seems to be shaping up into a HOT Season of record, once more, according to Thailand's prognosticators.

If I really choose not to, then I will not need to vernture out, unless by foot, for about 6 to 8 months.

I think, next time, I will stock up on sunflower oil, one year's supply.

On Monday in the Rangsit area, half the pumps were completely out of diesel. Caltex was still filling but limiting to 500 baht. Finally found a Bangchak station that would fill up without a limit. Wife came back from Roi Et on Wednesday night. All the pumps along the highway were limiting diesel to 500 baht. The PTT off the beaten path near her village still had no restrictions.

Down to half a tank, so have to go out and fill the truck again today or tomorrow. Not sure if a weekday or weekend will be better. Not looking forward to the headache, but it is what it is. Won't last forever.

You do understand it’s Iran blocking the Hormuz straits? They’ve been preparing ; gaming such a move for at least a decade - it was only a question of when it would happen . But your position is to forever let Iran get away with its fomenting of unrest in the region (amongst other atrocities) based on that. And it’s Americas fault too is that Iran is attacking its neighbors oil facilities to foment global economic pain,is it?

Iran is a problem that was one day going to have to be dealt with and the longer it’s left the worse it will be

The lines are about 1km long on HW 11 to buy gas at the local station. I topped up the last time I was out before the madness set in. Bought an extra LNG cannister for cooking this week, so I've got enough cooking gas for about 1 year. My car gets 23 kilometers/liter so I'm not too worried. We don't do a whole lot of driving anyway. Guess we'll do less now.

They have been saying this for weeks (actually months) before the attack: "If you attack our oil facilities, we will attack oil facilities in the entire region because those countries host bases from which the attacks on Iran are launched." If anyone is confused, then they ignorantly didn't pay attention to Geo-politics. I've had my eye on this since General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated by Trump, especially since Trump returned to office. Nobody should have been surprised.

Gasoline is limited to 300 baht per purchase in Chiang Rai. There doesn't seem to be a limit on scooters.

Back in the Day, when we experienced super long lines waiting for petrol (gas in the USA)...twice during the 1970s...

Every evening, the news would report on the fights that had broken out, and the queue-jumping (line jumping), and the basic brutality of humans, rising to the surface, during a very minor disturbance in the world, all things being considered.

So my question is: What about Thailand if we begin experiencing 2-hour or even 5-hour waits to fill up the tank?

Weill we see...

a. Fights ?

b. Smiles ?

Shootings?

Beer bottles over the noggin?

I have always been happy, since arriving here, not to drive an auto.

Now, I am especially glad I do not own one of those contraptions.

Them solar panels are < 5 meters from the inverter, and inverter is < 1 meter from breaker box 🙄

Almost swap cars for a photo of ours, but ours charges at the front grill, and don't think I could tolerate the negative replies when pointed out cheesy

I was making a joke re being close to the electrical supply and getting the electricity before any one else 😀

Long Queues in my area, mainly pickups. I saw many pickups with 4 50 gal drums in the back trying to persuade attendant to fill them. Massive hoarding taking place.

No gasoline today, but we got 13L diesel 600 baht.

Magic number today 600 baht

`13L for 600 baht, you were ripped off. Diesel price went up today, something like 30.54 baht, but that is nothing like you got charged
