American players usually come out of colleges. Canadian kids play hockey and are are fed to the pros via Junior Leagues, unless they go to college in the USA (rare). The Finns and Scandanavians are also fed in by junior leagues. There are very few Canadians in baseball and football

Training methods too, which in the old days was a cigarette and beer. Pure goonerism like the old Flyers just cant do it, you have to be skilled too.I think hockey players are the best and toughest atheletes in team sports
