A man in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, was apprehended for allegedly acting as a proxy during the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). The Professional Regulation Commission–Region IX (PRC-IX) and room watchers at Napolan National High School discovered the impostor through a double-layer identity verification system when his appearance did not match the Notice of Admission submitted. Upon questioning, he admitted he was not the registered examinee for the exam.

Investigations revealed that the suspect is underage, confirmed by the birth certificate provided by his family. Consequently, the suspect was handed over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office, while authorities verify the document's authenticity. They are also considering filing charges against both the suspect and the actual individual behind the identity used.

The investigation continues to identify any accomplices involved in the incident. In a related story, an LET examinee in Koronadal City became emotional after arriving four minutes late, resulting in being denied participation in the exam, reportd Balita.
