The suspects, a 34-year-old man and his 35-year-old live-in partner, were apprehended during a follow-up operation. Police reported that the victim was targeted during his passage through a sugarcane field. The male suspect confessed to planning the robbery-motivated murder along with his partner, who initially lured the victim by engaging in a drinking session.

Authorities retrieved several items from the crime scene including the victim's prosthetic leg, clothing, and car key. Additional evidence included clothing, gloves, and a black T-shirt used by the suspects. Police Brig. Gen.
