Living In Hua Hin

Featured Replies

Am pondering the idea of moving from BKK to Hua Hin. It is a nice place for a weekend but what is it really like to live there?

Do they have an international play group for expat kiddies for instance? Can one buy cheese in the supermarket? Is everyone there on holiday or do people actually live there and have a community?

Blake7. How far is Hua Hin from Bangkok? If you are seriously considering a 'permanent' move, why don't you spend a week or so there (hotels aren't expensive in Thailand) and find out the answers to the questions you seek yourself. Really.

Hua Hin is 220km from BKK.

Yes people do live here (quite a few of us too!)

Yes you can buy cheese in the supermarket

There are international schools here also and many expats have kids here.

There is a hua hin community forum here: http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum

Jitagon's idea was quite good, come down for a week or so and check the place out.
