Honda Crv

Featured Replies

Having read and been impressed by the UK reviews for the new CRV I am contemplating buying one. I live in the burbs of Bangkok 6 months a year and will be doing a lot of driving around Thailand (not just on the main roads).

Does anyone have opinions of the CRV as Thailand transport? How does it cope with the day to day of Bkk and does the 4 wheel kick in when needed.

Any info welcomed

its a great car, but not really a city car.

if you really must have a crv in bangkok, then at least get the 2.0 lt version (which the UK review was speaking about).

here though you got the possibility of a 2.4 lt engine - which is a beautiful workhorse if you travel provinces - with always enough power left on highways and fully loaded.

driving only in bangkok though i do not get an impressive mileage - about 6 km/lt.

combined with province driving it adds up to about 10.5 km/lt.

a truly great car - and a real update from the older crv. i had the '01 model.

go for it. but as said, if you only need a car for bangkok and you're gasoline-conscious, i'd look elsewhere.

Thanks for the info.

I have been trying to figure out whether to go for the 2.0 or the 2.4. Alot of my driving will be in Bkk but I will be regularly driving to Hua Hin and Isaan. So maybe the 4 wd will be worth it as I will be off the main roads a fair bit.

Anyone know the fuel consumption for the 2.0?

Ive had the 2.4 since Feb and have had no problems, very nice to drive in all conditions.

I recently switched to Gasohol for a nice saving on fuel (and the enviroment!)

I've had the 2.0 for the past two and a half years (since new) and it's great, only slightly negative comment is the strength of the air con which doesn't always meet my needs. Not sure I would buy it for driving in BKK because of the size and the fuel consumption.
