Here we are although, my spelling leaves something to be desired....................

TBWG :D

I `ve never been in a clique before , whats it like?

My definition of a clique, sod the dictionary.

A collection of individuals capable of individual thought, giftted with the ability to express those thoughts in a way that will not cause any personal offence to any other member of the group, but just may cause another member of the group to reanalyse their beliefs whilst still retaining the capacity to question their own beliefs.

Not a closed circle, but certainly a boundary..... the entry price being the ability to say 'hello'

If thats the case then may bedlam be forever cliquey.

She must have the record of the most posts in a short time ever...

If nothing else she is prolific, interestingly she has about the same number of posts on another forum that shall not be named :o

CB

Nothing better to do?!?

Honing my writing skills?

Clique me up, Tiggy! :D

I just made that up... for something to do. Am I in? :o

'Course you are, you were never out!

I hope that's cheered you!

I think you have to be careful here Tiggy. If everyone's in and nobodies out, Kayo will need a lip transplant and where will you find a hall big enough for your meetings ?

Ouch. Coming from a friend who knows I make my living from my pen that really hurt.

Hey Jet you know we love and have great respect for you so it is just mild joshing not intended as spiteful. If you took it in any other way then I am sure we all apologise for any offence taken.

CB

I most certainly would appologise if Jettie took offence. I thought the comment so preposterous it could not in any way be meant offensively! So Jettie, if you did find it so, please forgive me. Or come over here and spank me for being such a naughty boy! :D:o

The spanking sounds good. I have a wooden spoon and I know how to use it. 55

A wooden spatula works better - oooops - or so I've heard...

Of course, anywhere with a core of long-term members is bound to be 'cliquey' to some extent, but with the warm welcome that Jet and others extend to noobs, I don't see a problem. That being said, I appreciate that I myself tend to lurk in the shadows these days, but come 'midday', I will probably emerge.

IMHO, just about every member of Bedders deserves a pat on the back for their contributions - especially the more creative ones! (Oops... what's that odour?)

What's the point in discussing anything anyway.

It's all just hot air for a bunch of bored people.

Spot on from Kayo (Hello too!)

Private forums are a way to keep your more valuable assets happy. Forums owners have their own big forums where they discuss how to grow their forums and become more successful, one trick is to provide a private forum for your bigger posters, which helps encourage retention and loyalty to your site. Because basically, we are providing web content to George for free which he then makes advertising bucks out of. So we're all fairly valuable to him. It's also why forum moderation policies tend to be lax, and mods always ask for more rules but forum owners tend to be frustratingly strict about not being too strict, since really any original content is good for the overall success of the site.

So it was always intended to be a clique, it is supposed to make us feel special, and it works on all but the most web jaded of us :o

Now, about getting those bedlam t shirts printed.. I know an indian chap over on soi 7...

Actually I think that the total number of members is much more commonly used to drum up advertising - comments like "over 50,000 members" carries more weight that saying "over 600 active members who post all the bleedin' time and 49,400 who joined up over the years and dropped out of sight after an average of only 6 posts"

Now, about getting those bedlam t shirts printed.. I know an indian chap over on soi 7...

Isn't Bedlam the name of a bar in Soi 7 or am I thinking of it being somewhere in a Soi Cowboy :o

I think a t-shirt with just "Forum 47" would be better as only a select few would understand! :o

Or, 'don't ask, if I told you, I'd have to shoot you! :D

The point is to keep us here and keep us posting, not brag about us. :o

I still think we should get special privileges like Elite Card members.....

Thai Customs Official: You have 39 litres of whiskey in your bag sir!

You: (whisper) I'm a friend of the tiger in 47.

TCO: Let me call you a cab sir!

With that sentence you are asking if they understand which is not quite the same.

Very funny cdnvic, like it! A bit like those 'American Express ads a few years ago.

I wasn't meaning it to be the same. It could be just Forum 47 Khao jai Mai.

If someone says Mai Khao Jai, then they clearly are not in it :o

Whereas, if someone tickles my b4lls and gives me a dodgy handshake (and it will be dodgy after tickling my b4lls) I'll know it's Kayo :D

Incorrect, the number of unique visitors, page-views and past clickthrough-rate is what is important.

Besides, for a lot of ad-services your past history or current atats doesn't matter since you don't have to find the advertisers. Like Google Ads and other schemes.

Regarding 47:

Hit_Logo_bloodmoney.jpg

Wha do you mean, 'regarding 47'? ie what's the context?

Search and ye shall find.

Ps. The image-name is a clue. And it was a respone to #83. Ds.
