Sunderland Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Money well spent ... especially the back flips!
mrtoad Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 You've created a whole new thread for Kenwyn Jones?? Think that result as put a smile on you face, but not sure if Thaipauly will be so happy. I think even Derby may take that unwanted record of 16 points away from you this season as well.
Spit the Dog Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 It looks like Jones will give Chopra a run for his money to be Sunderland's top goalscorer this season. What is that now? 3 between them. I'm sure that John Terry and co are in a panic as we speak.
Sunderland Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Yes, our 11 million pound Championship strikeforce is there to be mocked. We'll see. I fancy they'll have 10 goals between them by the end of the season ... that's 5 each!! Joking aside, quite happy with the way Jones and Chops play together. Both of them have good control. Never seen Chopra lose possession this season. Always seems to release the ball in good time. Could come back to haunt the great unwashed up the road this season. Come back fishing in a month when Jones has either scored his second hat-trick or become the latest target for the boo boys.
Spit the Dog Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 He actually looks like a decent signing. He's big, strong and he won just about everything in the air against West Ham. In saying that, I don't think his goalscoring backflips are as good as Obafemi Martins.
chavy Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I think even Derby may take that unwanted record of 16 points away from you this season as well. Oh I do hope so
scousemouse Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Although it was in a losing effort against the hammers , his headed goal was a cracker. The back flips weren't too bad either ( though not as good as martins )

Felt for Sunderland in that last game, they certainly deserved to get a point.
chavy Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Is that right then ? Roy Keane wont shave until they win a game again
mrtoad Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Is that right then ? Roy Keane wont shave until they win a game again If that's right, then he should look good for the Christmas Party, as his beard will be long enough to play Santa.

EastSaxCol Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 To be fair, him and Gordon (nice touch-in from Solano, btw) may be the only players that stand between Sunderland and relegation. 6ml well spent on Jones I think -- at least judging bu Sunday's performance.
ThaiPauly Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Have to say the scoreline flattered West Ham. Jones was definatley man of the match for me. Had it not been for Robert Green's fantastic save I think Sunderland would have won. Green is my fantasy league goalkeeper ...he should also be the England number 1 right now IMHO my faith in Robinson is waning fast
PolPotter Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Surprised how well he's started- we had him on loan a couple of seasons back and failed to impress- scored on his debut v Millwall but did little else apart from fall over a lot-money well spent so far

Come to think of it he is, I was reading about his tag keep coming off & plod having to re arrest him
PolPotter Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Yep Vince Pericard is once again out and should be on the bench today Was a petition on 'The Oatcake' fanzine site to keep him locked up. Not a fan's favourite to say the least you might have guessed
