Hi People :o ,

I need to marry my Thai Girlfriend who is currently working in Phuket as a Spa Manager . I would like to get married to her in Thailand and register myself.I also need to find a job there.

Is this possible ??? And what are the visa rules ... will i get to stay with her on a long term visa in Thailand ???? I am sure of landing a job once I get a Spouse visa.... as organisations in Thailand refrain from expats since they have to show 2million Baht for each expat....how can I avoid this and work like a normal person???

Lets get down to the facts, a visa doesn't give you the right to work, only to stay in LOS.

You need a "work permit" an altogether different animal.

There are lots of posts dealing with the work permit situation, so read them.

In reality you would never be able to work like a "normal person" (I assume you mean Thai Person) unless you become a Thai citizen (and earn the same wages too)

You sound like a LOS Newbie, save your money and spend some time here, take time to learn the customs and the way things work.

How you can avoid this ??

Follow the advice bronco give you,If other people tell you somethings else ( they are bullshitters )
