Eucalyptus, Bamboo And Thatch Roof Construction

I'm sure most ppl have seen buildings made with eucalyptus posts and frame, woven bamboo sheets for the walls and thatch roof.

The can range from things thrown up in a day, to fancy restaurants and bungalows. With a bit of imagination nice things can be build, whether they're complex of simple.

Has anybody used these materials and familar with prices? How about lifespan? Termites are terrible here, I've seen the eucalyptus posted sealed with a varnish, does this make it longer lasting?

Also, the thatch roofs, would be better for insulation.
