Motocy Accident.....

Recommended Posts

I just received an email from a friend in Oz that a good friend of ours was badly injured in a motor cycle accident in Hua Hin.

The details at this stage are minimal. But it appears that American John (young english teacher, short but quite round, with a bald head and always a big smile) was on his way home from coconuts bar after a couple of drinks. Swerving to miss a dog, he came off his bike and sustained some serious injuries :o

Is ther anyone local, that may know John, who has any further details? Or heard about it on the grapevine?

Thanks...

Thanks to Netfan I now have an update on where and how John is :o

Unfortunately the news is not good. Possibly touch and go at this stage.

So now my OP has been answered, any Mods viewing, please feel free to close this topic. Thanks.

Why close it? Drink driving, no helmet? should be brought to the attention of everybody who thinks it will never happen to me!!!!

I tend to agree with this, though must remain tactful as i know John myself.

It is indeed a good reminder to all those out there to have eyes in the back of your head and be sensible.

Because (as I said before) I have now found out where John is, and how he is.

Thats all the information I needed. And thats all that matters to me.

John was alone when it happened and he is, unfortunately, still in a coma in Sirvej Hospital in BKK (San Paulo was smart enough to get him up there immediately). According to a policeman, he hit a dog in the road. Any conjecture or unfounded gossip would not be fair to John or his family, who are with him at the hospital. The best we can do is hope John recovers. i know John and have spoken with many, many others who also know him and no one has had a bad word to say about him. His friends all over and his classmates and teachers at Stamford all pray for the best.

I would like to update everyone concerned about John's condition. He is recovering very well now and has regained his ability to speak, eat, and has begun to walk again also. Although he still has a long road ahead, he is improving at an amazing rate. I expect to see him back in Hua Hin before the end of the year.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
