Little bit of topic but has anybody noticed how holding doors open for most Thai folk doesn't even get you a thank you ?<br /><br />I still do it anyway, but only for women or the older folks.<br /><br />I'm from the UK so maybe its a British etiquette thing ?<br /><br />Any similar experiences ?<br /><br />Kankaroo.

Everytime I come over I bring my wifes friends a gift they never say thank you. Next time Ill buy them a T shirt with "Thanks " written on it!

If they can't say thank you, and you keep buying them stuff,get another shirt while your at it,make sure "STUPID" is written on it,and put it on.

The wife tels me Thais DONT say thanks much at all but then you would know that if you are a Thai expert. It doesnt mean they dont appreciate it and they often pay for dinner. They will always offer to help my wife with anything and will never accept money , sorry if they dont fit the bargirl image you may have had.

Both have office jobs one is 34 lives with her parents the other 31 and lives with her boyfriend.

He probably thought when in Rome act like the locals.

Or maybe he might have thought if I bump into this guy it might produce a thread on Thai Visa!!!

Ask a silly question and it usually gets a similiar response.

Just to avoid it happening again, why don't you wear and flurescent vest with orange and yellow shevrons on it. This might save you the embarrasment of being bumped into and stop you getting angry.
