I've been a member of Easy Fitness (at the SW corner of the intersection where Central Festival is) ffor almost a year. It's pretty good, machines are well maintained, it's very clean, staff are friendly. Check it out.

I just joined the Easy fitness centre at the central intersection last week and am very pleased with their facilities and service.

Call in and have a talk with them it is very professionally run and all the staff are very helpfull and speak english. Seems to cater to quite a large thai and expat crowd, tho is never full.

Forgot to mention there is also a small gym on the same side of the road just past the Kathu market. Have never been inside but noticed it several months ago whilst waiting for the wife doing the shopping.

I am moving to Kathu tomorrow. I use to workout at Chalong gym, but that will be too far of a drive now...

I stand between chosing either Easy Fitness Center outside Phuket Town or the one in Kathu, like "Big guy" wrote about.

Has anyone tried them out? And what are the rates?

Thanks.

The Gym by Kathu market is okay if you are mostly into weights. The cardio equipment is very limited. I think they charge 100 baht a session or 1200 a month.

Easy Fitness Center near Central is a good all round Gym for weights, cardio and they also have free classes (yoga, step, etc). You have to become a member. They usually have some kind of signing up promotion but roughly speaking I think it is a sign on fee (maybe 2000 baht) and about 1400 a month.

Anyone got any experience/recommendation for gyms in patong? Never been in one in me life but docs order, I'm afraid, so nothing fancy needed - just something cheap n cheerful.

there is Patong Gym in the alley behind "Subway" on Rath utit and ThaiLife in Soi Sansabai (belongs to the Tai Pan people (more fancy and guess more expensive, but with very good staff I am being told

never been in one myself, eventhough I should :o

Special - modern exercise machines at sports centre, Ban Ket Ho School, Kathu in Phuket

To see or download mini-video, go to http://www.thaisnews.com/news_detail.php?newsid=214866

Apart from community aerobic exercises at the Child Development Centre at Ket Ho, (junction of roads to Kathu-Patong-Phuket city) these modern exercise machines located within the sports centre of the local school, are major motivations for residents here to take an interest in exercising for health. The flexible controls on the machines can be suited to cover all gender and ages, young or old.

Every afternoon, the residents of Ket Ho and nearby gather to regularly exercise for healthy minds and bodies. This exercise runs under the community’s health promotion program which has been allocated 500,000 baht. It is expected to draw more attention from young people, to keep them away from drugs and more importantly reduce medical costs. The exercise machines are made available for the public during 5.30-8pm everyday and users pay only 10 baht each for maintenance costs. Among the popular machines are bicycles, sit ups and Homfit tools. The leader also has a plan to extend the facility by adding another room to cope with future demand

The fitness centre at Sukko Spa, on the road between Chalong and Central Festival, is very good, and the setting is beautiful. Excellent equipment. Also has a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Members get excellent discounts on other facilities at the Spa such as massage etc. Well worth checking out !
