Abso-flaming-lutely!!

And don't forget Random Posts :)

bottom

Random posts? Nah - I've only posted here a handful of times myself... :)

504 error

If they deleted all the posts that were meaningless drivel it would explain why I lost so few and others so many. :)

I barely qualify for Bedlam if that were the case! :D

If ditto means the same as bottom, I'm in full agreement.

'

Bottom as in Nick Bottom and the Mechanicals, sometimes called the Hempen Homespuns ?

:)

A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Why can't I buy Som-O when Lonely Planet says it's available in Thailand all year round?

It's an important part of my weight loss program. :)

I don't think so. I didn't lose any! :D

I don't know patsy, I'm not into that type of er, music!

Stick in the mud....

Never seen that video before, thanks Patsy!

On This Day

30th January 1962.

Two members of the "Flying Wallendas" high-wire act were killed when their seven-person pyramid collapsed during a performance in Detroit.... :)

Fascinating story, fascinating people.

"Life is being on the wire; everything else is just waiting." Karl Wallenda.

This darned notebook of mine has done it again! Yesterday, I got a monochrome screen (and mono apps). After reading (Web) about - and rejecting - all sorts of weird and wonderful 'cures', I was saved yet another five days of full reinstall by restoring the previous registry. However, the thing's obviously less stable than Mount Pinatubo, so I'm just biding my time waiting for the next OS eruption... :)

Ping, stop visiting those xxx sites mate.

And install CCleaner, Spybot SD, Commodo firewall (activate stealth option) and use Firefox.

Anyway I had a great evening, when I payed for my groceries I could see (partly) the breasts of the lady cashier.

:)

^I wish it were that easy Alex; unfortunately, it seems to be software incompatibility problems - at least insofar as the notebook is concerned. My desktop runs identical software (and both are Vista OS) and it's never missed a beat. Both also run the same brands of motherboard/CPU and graphics cards. From my reading of the ASUS site, I could be wrong, but I suspect that contributing factors may be one or more wobbly ASUS apps - because many people have been having similar problems. I'd drop the apps that I suspect except that they are integral to the features of the notebook (including photographic recognition log in, fingerprint recognition, etc).

As for your groceries foray, may I suggest you try some of those xxx sites instead? :)

Different brands of ram chips can cause the effect you are experiencing too......make sure all the chips are the same brand.....also, if you have a spare ram slot, try it out instead of the one/s you are using.

Been making some good chips lately, there's some nice small hard fleshed potatoes available in the local market.

Hard fleshed tatties? Hmmmm, I think floury spuds are best for fries.

Or do you mean "crisps"?

No, I'm Australian, chips are those long things that come with fish.

Not sure about what potatoes make the best ones, have to take pot luck up here.

How do you tell floury from not floury when they're still raw anyway? :)

Infra red the only sure way. Some people opt for strobes and probes, but even then a sneaky tatter will always have his way.........

However at the end of the day your family need only fear root vegetables. Those babies go for it every time.

Not to self, STOP DAYTIME DRINKING................

Of course..... but it is an international forum. Also, since spuds are broadly broken into two categories, floury and waxy, and floury are best for chips, while waxy are best for crisps (also known as chips when they come in a foil packet), your reference to hard flesh spuds in the same breath as "chips" left some room for interpretation.

I'm not sure how to tell the difference while raw except by the reputed characteristics of the varietal.

(I did equate "hard flesh" to the waxy type....an assumption.)

There is a whole science devoted to chip making, which Jamie Oliver condensed into just several sentences, God bless him. :D

I think he was referring to one of our other esteemed BMs (who seems to be doing a lot of wine quaffing of late) - he said 'NOT' to self...

4gb (2x2) of Kingston. The RAM seems okay... But enough of this sheep talk; you'll have ZPete feeling fidgetty.
