Hi,

I'm a bit of a wilderness nut and am off in a few months for a bit of an expedition in South America.

I need someone, preferably close to downtown Bangkok, with a robust sewing machine to repair a tent, backpack and canvas awning. The tent needs a new zipper. This is quality stuff, but has seen lots of rough use and I don't want to buy new gear if I can avoid it. Want a quality job.

You see lots of ladies with sewing machines, but I'm looking for somebody to do heavier work. Know anyone?

Not sure I've seen shop that does what you ask for but you might try auto or furniture upholstery shop. Their machines should be up for the task. Another option, and maybe better, might be a luggage repair shop.

Thanks, I thought I'd try what you suggest, but just hoped there would be someone out there who knew of a specific place.
