Hilux Vigo Misting Windscreen

is it just my vigo? when the temperature outside changes as its raining, my windscreen mists up.I expect that to happen but without opening the window, i cant clear the screen and its raining so i dont want to open it.Am i missing something really obvious? there are vents at the bottom of the screen but no air blowing out through them. I must be thick. There must be a way of blasting air through these vents. Is there a fault with the vents? :o

there is a circular ventilation control that can be adjusted to direct air to either the windscreen vebts , the face vents or the footwell vents.

is your air-con turned on?

if it is , is it functioning properly?

N o there isnt! you have a choice of face or feet and face. Windscreen is not indicated on the dial

oh!

then try closing the flaps on the 4 face vents on the dash , turn the dial to "face", the fan to max and see if any air comes out of the windscreen vents.

if no luck , then a trip to the dealer might be in order. maybe the tubes that supply the windscreen vents have come adrift.

I believe the problem is the vent caps are there for installation of a heater system, so they won't be connected to aircon. This is one of the only faults I can level at the Vigo, was cursing when I first realised I couldn't demist the screen, without depositing rain inside the car!

I reckon it's not a problem to the average Thai, as they tend not to look where they're going in any case ... I'm about to post on an experience I had with Autoglym in Pattaya, the idiots there put polish on the windscreen, so first time it rained (at night) I was reduced to a 20 kph crawl, terrified of being rammed and unable to see more than a few yards.
