Just seen the penalty awarded to Liverpool because Mr G is so good at cheating.

I know that I cannot be alone in the realisation that a 4th ref ( as in a replay of the incident) has to be brought into play.

Stevie G .......you are a cheat.

But nobody can blame you ,.

Most football players are at it and making a fool of themselves and the game in the process.

If it works for Rugby,,,,,why not football?

Come on ,,,,voice your view.

All we want is a fair game.

In my opinion it was a foul. Hibbert was the last man, therefore deserved the red.

The only question is whether the offence was outside the area?

Sorry I dont agree.

He went for the try but with no ball and wrong game.

Sorry but it was crap

Then again ,,,it gave Liverpool a goal,,so it wasn,t that crap.

It was a blatant foul :D .

Did it deserve the red card , by the letter of the law yes , but if it was any ref other than Clattenburg then probably yellow.

I'm in agreement with jack'n'danny , the only talking point regarding the decision was was it in or outside the area.

Get off Steven Gerrard's back soihok , next you'll be saying Phill Neville's hand ball was an accident and it was all Gerrard's fault :D .

surely your not still be bitter about that pen Robbie Fowler scored by any chance :o:D:D:bah: .

If only Neville had been in goal for the 2nd penalty. He would have saved it. Same place same height!!!!

So Everton should have had a penalty too cos, that foul by JC was the most blatant foul of the game....!

Also Pool penalty or not, SG was a <deleted> for goading the ref who, had a Yellow in his hand and as SG walked past and said something, he changed it to a Red....! Whether it was a Red card offense or not, SG should have left it to the ref to decide. I will admit my own players have done it, CR for one, I do not like it....! :o

True Gerrard did say something to the ref , but then so were the whole of the bluesh#te players :o , and it was ONLY Gerrard who said something not the whole of the team , unlike the mancs.

Whatever was said didn't change the ref's mind , it was the way both players acted after the foul that said it all. Gerrard got up and was incensed were as Hibbert tried to hide on the other side of the pitch and hope the ref would forget it was him.

It should have been a penalty for Everton at the death but the ref didn't see it :D . The bluesh#te fans are not feeling sorry for themselves and after the luck we've had already this season ( chelski ) we'll say thank you and ......................next stop turkey ( a must win CL game ) followed by the gooners at Anfield. With both teams undefeated somethings got to give :D

But Gerrard DID change the refs mind. He clearly had a yellow out before Gerrard indicated that he was going 'on goal' and then pulled out a red instead. The right decision as it goes. :o

I'm not sure that I blame Gerrard so much for that though. More poor refereeing.

Well , if what he said did change the ref's mind ( I still have my doubts ) the it was very , very poor refereeing and Clatenburg should find himself doing a stretch in the lower leagues :D

It's as clear as the light of day (outside of BKK that is :o ) if you see the replays.

But the ref did have a poor game. Although I'm still not sure about the Everton last ditch penalty appeal.

id have to say they deserved the last minute pen. carra pulled him down. i doubt very much the elephant man jumped backwards and knocked carra to the floor.

makes it all the more satisfying

What could Gerrard possibly say to make a referee change a yellow to a red?Very weak reffing.

Still it's nice to see Gerrard actually get on to a referee. He hardly ever gets on to refs, even to stick up for teammates.

"I was going on goal" is what he said . The ref nodded and then changed the card from the yellow that he initially pulled from his poket to the red. As I've said. It's obvious on the replays. Anyone who watched it on Sky or MOTD will confirm.

But there are more interesting things to think about . Like taking three points off Sunderland today. :o

use to have a lot of respect, for gerrard as a player. but to get another pro sent off. as he obvously did not only f-ucked up a good game. but put himself in a bad light, with supporters everywere and his fellow pros. it will not be forgot by blue half of merseyside.

From the head-on shot on TV (what the ref obviously couldn't see) it appeared to me that Gerrard put his right arm across Hibbit's chest then, as soon as he was in diving distance of the penalty area, he just slackened speed slightly to allow Hibbit to make contact before launching himself forward. Hibbit was stupid to allow himself to be so close to Gerrard who certainly knew what he was doing. The ref took the yellow card out and, after Gerrard reminded him that he was clear through on goal, then produced the red card.

Kuyt lucky not to be sent off for two footed ariel challenge, probably would have been if he had connected.

Mr. Clutterberk got it wrong again.

No problems with the second pen, good save by Neville though.

Gerrard stuck his right foot out to the right so that he would be off balance and Hibbert would have no option but to run into the back of him and clatter him over. I thought the ref got the card out for Gerrard first and was surprised it was for Hibbert.

To be honest, if you can draw the defender into actually making the foul, and he's not smart enough to avoid it, then I don't see anything wrong in that.

Interesting. From skysports:-

No game for Clattenburg

Referee will not officiate Premier League fixture

Mark Clattenburg will not referee a Premier League match this weekend in the wake of his display in the Merseyside derby.

The Professional Game Match Board, who oversee referees and make appointments for top-flight games, confirmed that Clattenburg would not be involved in the latest round of fixtures.

Everton manager David Moyes was fiercely critical of the official's display at Goodison Park, where he awarded Liverpool two penalties and dismissed Tony Hibbert and Phil Neville.

Moyes was also unimpressed that Clattenburg only showed Dirk Kuyt a yellow card for a reckless two-footed lunge on Neville, and that Everton were denied a penalty in the closing seconds when Joleon Lescott appeared to be wrestled to the floor by Jamie Carragher.

Liverpool came from behind to win the match 2-1 with Kuyt converting both penalties after Sami Hyypia's own goal had given the home side the lead.

Ref Clattenburg out for weekend

_44191183_clattenburg203.jpg Clattenburg was criticised by Everton boss David MoyesMark Clattenburg will not referee a Premier League match this weekend after being criticised for his handling of the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

Everton were unhappy with the official after he sent off Tony Hibbert and then only booked Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt for a two-footed lunge at Phil Neville.

Kuyt stayed on to score his second penalty to give Liverpool a 2-1 win.

And the Toffees were further enraged when Clattenburg ignored Everton's claims for a penalty moments later.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher appeared to haul Joleon Lescott to the ground as Everton's nine men fought for an equaliser.

Everton defender Alan Stubbs said after the game: "If the referee looks at the decision again he will see the penalty appeal was right.

"Their lad had his arms all around Joleon, what was he supposed to do?

"It's a stonewall penalty. The referee was close, but that means nothing. He was close to a lot of things and didn't give them.

"We are disappointed because we have lost. But there was zero feedback from the referee, I think they should have to come out after a game and explain themselves.

"We have to explain ourselves if we make bad decisions or mistakes, why not referees?" The decision to withdraw Clattenburg for this weekend's games was confirmed by the Professional Game Match Board

Yes Mr b , just like I predicted :D
