BOT to host economic and investment seminar in Chiang Mai

Ms. Prangtip Busayasiri (ปรางทิพย์ บุศยศิริ), the Senior Director of the Bank of Thailand (BOT)’s Northern Regional Office, says the BOT will hold a seminar on the direction of Thailand’s economy and investment after the general election at the central bank’s head office in Chiang Mai province on November 13th, 2007.

Ms. Prangtip says the seminar will provide knowledge on economic and financial subjects to financial institutes, state agencies and education institutions in northern Thailand. This event will also acknowledge economic problems and gather perspectives on the BOT’s policy from various units.

Ms. Prangtip says the BOT Governor, Dr. Tarisa Watanagase (ธาริษา วัฒนเกส), will give a special address on the direction and trends of Thailand’s economy and investment in 2008. Other notable participants will include Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul (ประสาร ไตรรัตน์วรกุล), the President of Kasikorn Bank, Mr. Montree Sornpaisarn (มนตรี ศรไพศาล), the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited, and Dr. Somchai Jitsuchon (สมชัย จิตสุชน), the Macroeconomic Development and Income Distribution Research Director under the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI).
