Can I Go Back & Forth Without Application?

Featured Replies

Greetings, Gateway Gurus:

I need a little more time in Thailand than my current visa (from Ranong) allows. I know I could go again to Ranong, but have been invited to travel by car on one-day trip to Hat Yai and back, from Surat Thani.

Can I just go back and forth across the border, or must I apply for a visa in the morning and then wait overnight?

Is it doable to leave my friends in Hat Yai for a couple of hours, and then just hurry back? I do not wish to incovenience them.

It is for this Monday, and could be fun, as opposed to exhausting and weird.

As Ever,

Thanks

Assume you are from a country allowed 30 day stay without visa so yes you can travel to border either by taxi, share taxi or bus and return after crossing borders and getting a new 30 day stay. Whole trip will take between 2 and 3 hours and friends could come right up to border check point if at Sadao and wait in a coffee shop if you want.
