last week my chev dealer called me [the wife took the call] for a free fix and i made an appointment to fix my 3yr old colorado 3.0 lt. me, not knowing thai and my wife [knowing some english, but not mechanical] couldn't explain what the problem was and same-same the people at the chev dealers.

while waiting for 3 hrs i did check on the truck to see what the mechanic was doing and saw that he was removing the head.....didn't want to make him nervous, so i went back to waiting.

when finished i noticed some new hoses.

has any other chev owners [or isuzu, same motor] had the recall and know what it was all about??

Last time when I had the Isuzu in for service they indeed changed something as a free update. Apparently not urgent enough to call me though. Took quite a while, too.

I've had mine for 3 years now also, Had it serviced about a month ago and they didn't say anything BUT about a year ago there was a recall (it was in for service anyway) and they changed a manifold (i think, something to do with the management system0.

Otherwise fine.
