In some countries dealers have to give a warranty on a used car by law (sometimes also depending on age of the vehicle). What is it like in Thailand?

What is your experience? Did anyone get a dealer to add a clause about warranty, how much did they give and did they actually honour it? How long did repairs take?

Most of the used car dealers get consigment cars, by private owners, finance companies or wholesalers. They get a salescomission when they sale the car. So how they could offer a warrantie for vehicles wich not belong to them?

Bought a second hand car (1 year old) a couple of years ago which was obviously still within the 3 year, 60,000KM manufacturars warranty period.

Had no problems with the dealer regarding servicing and warranty, with two different dealers of the same brand.

With a 1 year old used car normally nothing can go wrong. But if its a "120'000 Baht" car over 15 years old, who gonna offer any warranty?

I believe "toyota sure " second hand cars with warrenty but way too high from the second hand market prices.

I guess you pay what you get for.

I have just been at my dealer (Volvo) and saw their policy for guarantee on used cars. If I remember correctly:

- 1 year or 12'000 km

- 1000 km or 14 days to cancel the deal

- 1 year free on the road assistance

I also just had my Volvo in for the 1st service and paid THB 150. I also had to replace the battery (after 1 year) at additional cost.
