They pointed out that Thailand has around 1,200 spa amenities nationwide, less than 20% of which are under control of the Ministry of Public Health. Dr. Sangsit Piriyarangsan concluded that the excise tax collected is around 100 million baht per year which is not worth the officials’ work. Based on the facts, it should therefore be revoked. Did you pay your hosting package?

I can see in a whois search that you're domain is good and paid up untill Feb 2009.

But I can't see where you're site is hosted.

Furthermore I can't ping you either so it's like you're not even listed out there.

Check with your hosting provider and complain to them.

PS I also tried using a proxy service just to see if you're just blocked form Thailand for some reason, but the result was still the same, you do not exist!?!

I did the same - can't find it. It may also be that the DNS somehow got changed. But I'm betting the server is down, or your hosting has expired.

Appears your domain has disappeared from the DNS tables. As others have mentioned, sounds like the domain name has expired and you need to contact the web hosting site to check.

Domain name hasn't expired - it's good until 2009. Hosting may have, however. Or else the host's DNS servers are down.

Thank you for your replies and advice. The site re-appeared briefly late last night and this afternoon, but only temporarily. The webmaster/host server in Bangkok are working on the problem....

We have also cancelled Thursday's Andaman News, but hope to return on Friday 9 November with a Special report looking underwater at the garbage collection for the Phuket Carnival last week; and an interview with the Commercial Director of Thai Air Asia, who started a new direct route Phuket-Singapore, with updated local news including more accolades for Phuket and local hotels.

Any ideas for attracting advertisers or sponsors, or new producers/new programs on our channel ? We aim to serve the community but need financial support and practical ideas.

Any advice on why sound levels are low on our You Tube or Google http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=30...h&plindex=9 ? For techies, the original file bit rate was 234 kbps, audio sample size 16 bit, 2 channels stereo, audio sample rate 32 kHz and it sounded fine.

<p> Mr. Apichai Jienadisak, the president of Thai Spa Federation, stated that this year the Spa businesses generate revenue of over 10,000 million baht, which is still less than the target due to uncertainty in politics and economy. Special Report

The underwater garbage collection was run for its 17th year along side the Phuket Carnival to mark the beginning of the tourist season for Phuket Island. This year it was held last Thursday November 1st. Our special report today inspected the result of the event:

Early morning all participating boats departed the Patong beach and headed for the deep sea to drop off volunteer divers for underwater garbage collecting. All said they would try their best in this annual cleaning activity and competition.

The small bits of fishing nets are enemies to the coral reef which is like the golden rice pot for the tourism industry in the Andaman. Divers found the weight of ropes or nets covered on reefs cause the death of the coral reefs in the long term.

Divers needed to use knives to cut them off, then gently remove them to prevent damage they may cause to the coral reefs.

Even though each year the garbage collection activity is held, they always find fishing nets left by fishing boats in the Patong Bay.

Official statistics show that the underwater garbage during the years 2002 – 2006 was over 5,000 kilograms, mostly from left over stuff such as construction material, wooden shades from boats, plastic and foam, glass like beer bottles and metal cans.

At the end of the day, all teams got back to shore to weigh their garbage. This year the Urak Lavoi group came first with the highest amount of garbage 858.6 kilograms out of a total 1,030 kilograms. This is considered a good sign as the garbage is less than the past years.

A Thai actress Yada Chotetrakul expressed her feeling as she also participated in the activity “I am glad to have a chance to do something useful for Phuket. Yes collecting more garbage means you win the contest, but collecting less means a good sign as it indicates that the undersea is cleaner.”

Without proper care by people who exploit natural resources, these pretty and amazing scenes would be rare or non existent in Patong, as the volunteer concluded:

“I would like to give messages to tourism operators and tourists that if you love to go in the sea, you have got to help keep it clean. Only a small piece of garbage can cause death to sea animals.”
