How much does a kidney go for on the black market now? I reckon if I sell one, plus a few other choice bits, I can afford a gin fizz at the lobby bar.

We ge some right twits on this forum.... Sorry Donna, but I speak straight.

umm, basic best room rate for Raffles Singapore ranges from 850-1350 SGD before tax & charges or 20,000B -30,000B

The Raffles Singapre Plaza is "cheaper" at 550-750 SGD You can score a good deal in Beijng f0r 10KB before charges.

I think the Raffles hotel chain will probably be out of economic reach for most TV members. My father who is a rather wealthy man loved the Raffles in Singapore, but his one comment was that if he stayed in hotels like this, he'd not be wealthy for long.

Hence, I do not think my comment was too untoward. Unless of course, the economic demographics of the ToT sales targets have suddenly changed? Last announcement was a focus on tourists from India and iran who certainly do not have the disposable income of even the junket travelers from Europe and America.

i love raffles. the land they have purchased in phang nga is beautiful. whether TV members can afford it or not isnt really relevant to the original post anyway.

evason koh yao is also very expensive, but no comments have been made about that on here though. the resort is not even built on a beach! its on a rocky headland.
