mac.wheeler Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Hi folks, I need to travel to BKK quite quickly, I checked Bangkok Airways and they don't have anything available out of Samui tomorrow. I did find a flight on the 9th from Surat Thani at lunchtime so have booked that. I will leave KPG on the last boat tomorrow and stay overnight, I've only ever taken my bike across to Surat Thani before, are the busses that leave the port and take you into town? How hard is it to get to the airport? Thanks in advance.
sbk Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 The bus into town is no problem, I am pretty sure the last ferry of the day has buses into town (first one of the day-- 6am-- does not). As for getting to the airport from BanDon, I don't know--sorry. I am sure there is some kind of bus to the airport but I've never flown out of Surat so can't help you there.

There is a bus from Phantip Travel in Nathon that goes to the airport. They time their journeys to coincide with the flights. Telephone no. 077 421221. The office is near the police station and the amphur office. The price is around 280 Baht incl. the ferry. Edited November 7, 2007 by Lite Beer
Lite Beer Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 mac is leaving from Koh Phangan Ooops. I thought he was going to Samui and traveling from there. I would have thought that there would be a bus from Donsak to the airport.
sbk Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 He wants to spend the night in Surat Thani and get the bus in the morning. I am guessing that he could easily get a bus from the Samui Tour office which runs the ferry to Koh Samui, its on the main road in town, opposite the Wat, near the Singer shop, but well after the school (if that means anything to you ).

The bus from Samui stops at the Samui Tours office in Surat. So yes he could go from there. Have a nice evening S and remember your umbreller if you go out. Nice sunny days in Khon Kaen.

Hubby has been fishing like a madman the past two weeks and if he's happy (with all the fish he's caught, he should be) then I am happy. Kinda difficult to catch a 5k mackerel in KK good luck mac-- I am guessing you are flying the dreaded 12go?

No it's Air Asia actually, although kinda miffed their 899B special prices ended up at 1500B by the time they added tax etc. Still cheap tough.
