Hi Steve, nope, painting the house :o

Mattress, hmmm... alot of shops in Surat will put a mattress on the nightboat but if the nightboat isn't running then you have problems. Same with furniture.

There is a good sized furniture store outside Nathon on the way to the Immigration office in Samui that will send furniture and stuff over on the boat if you ask. Not sure which boat or how much the boat will charge tho.

There is the shop opposite the Wiang Thai hotel/ex-Booms Guesthouse. Just after the bridge (coming from Thong Sala) on the left hand side of the road. He does sell mattresses inside --furniture out front. Not sure on how great the quality is but he does have different types and sizes. He can also order for you if you want. I'd check him first.

I know this place in KPN and the mattress are very bad and expensive for this quality (4 000 baht in small width). I'd like a big size and very good quality because it's important for me to have a good sleep after 15 hours of work in hight season, you know :D

I think i'll go to Surat Thani in December, when the weather will be better, I hope..... :o

Try the Tesco/Lotus, wide range and very good Quality Mattresses and ask if they send it to KPG!

I bought one for 10.000 and it is worth every penny, I sleep like on cloud 7!

We went shopping at HomePro in Samui earlier this year and they said they would deliver to the boat, assume Tesco is the same but no idea. Again, no idea which boat you'd choose (slow boat I guess, but it could get wet) or how much they would charge.

Thanks to all for your advices, but it's true that I had not thought of moisture during transport in slow boat. It will be better if I go to Surat Thani by car. Before, it was easy from KPN to Samui by Seatran ferry, but now......it's the shit :o

Well, if moisture is an issue wait till rainy season is over - all good mattresses are sealed in strong plastic foil!

The shops in Mae Nam are more likely to deliver to KPG - but then haven't seen ANY Quality stuff there - and the Cheapos are still way to expensive - for what you get - mostly sort of pressed Cardboard...
