Raise The Suspension Of A Vigo 2 Wd

I bought a Vigo 2 wd last year and plan to raise its suspension and mount bigger tires so it will look like a prerunner I didn’t buy the prerunner because I did not want the 3.0 engine but a 2.5 ic and also a prerunner has no airbags.

Does anybody have a idea what this upgrade will cost and also is it a good thing to do or better do only the tires ?

Thanks,

Bram

Hi Bram,

I have a Vigo, 2wd, 2.5L and I did raise it in January...

I bought it two years ago and then I put some 17" wheels on it. Now I decided I wanted some bigger as the triton that I had wore 22".

I went to the Tire shop and talked to the guy... I decided on some 20" (wheel arches are not big enough, need to cut and make wider, ask VTR about that).

They did tell me that they wanted to raise the car too and I said ok.. That only costed me 1000B.... It does not look like a prerunner, just a little lower, about one inch... It does however look the same hight as a Highlander... I also bought some extended wheelarches to make it look better...

The tires costed me about 60000B but not sure on that... It feels much better, handles much better and runs beautifuly...

If you want it any higher I suggest that you look into new shocks and all that... but that will be expensive and I do not know anything about that...

Good Luck..

Shocks aren't that expensive..

Frankly I'd wait until you need new tyres and shocks anyway, then add a little lift (cheap!) and just do the bigger tyres & new shocks. New tyres don't cost 60K baht (new wheels of course do.. :o ) So then for very little money you effectively have something that's better than a Pre-runner.

(Side stepping the issue of why people want to raise non-off road trucks anyway, but hey)
