punisher Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Hi just a question,im driving Nissan Cefiro 3000cc 24v,i recently filled it up with gasohol95 ,and not sure but seems like after that the valves started to be noisy,so gasohol95 maybe not ok?
Thaiboxer Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 If your car was made in the last few years, it should be ok to use gasohol provide that the ethanol is only 10% of the mix. If the valves are noisy, put some regular 95 or 91 (whatever the book says the car can take) on top of what's in there now and see if there's a difference. Gasohol burns more quickly than regular gasoline and that noise you hear may be due to the mixture being ignited at the wrong time. If the noise persists after using regular gas, get a mechanic to check it out right away.

stingray Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 If your ticking noise PERMANENT, go check your oil. If its old (brown or black) change it. Don't forget the filter. Don't put any oil treatment, just using a thin oil 10/30. Drain the old oil when your engine is hot. Do the same thing after 500 km. Hydraulic lifters get sticky many times if oil not changed frequently so they start to have ticking noise. Make sure you have enought oil pressure.
