Neeranam Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I tried to install a new version of Nero but can't - says something about setup problem, yesterday i tried to install Barbie - Dancing Princess game and the same problem. I did delete a few things the other day Any suggestions? Cheers NN
rgs2001uk Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 neeranam dont know what you deleted, but for a start i would try system restore to a date prior to you deleting what you deleted. as follows, bottom lh side start, programmes, accessories, system tools, system restore. should take about 10 minutes. did you delete the original version of nero using add/remove software? or did you try and load the new version over the top of the old one, if so sometimes it doesnt work, suggest you go to control panel and remove the original version, also go to your c drive, program files and delete any nero folders that may still be there, then try installing nero again, should be self extracting. good luck.
geoffphuket Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I've tried several times to update my Nero 6 to a later version, but regardless of un-installing the previous copy - manually or automatic, the process always halts informing me I've got an older version that needs to be removed first. There has to be a hidden Nero file somewhere that's causing the problem, but I can't find it.
Daffy D Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 On the Nero WebPage you can find a download for “Nero Clean Tool” this will uninstall all traces of Nero and enable you to install a new version. Sorry I don’t have the link handy at the moment but it’s easy enough to find D.D.
