I deleted a lot of songs from my Itunes and expected my free disk space to increase.

The opposite has happened! I had 5 Gb free before and now 0.5 Gb. I did a disc clean up but still the same.

do a search for one of the songs you know you deleted, maybe they have been mysteriously moved somewhere else?
