9 Foot By 18 Foot Window/wall Needs Replacement

Featured Replies

*MODerators, please alter topic title: Change "12" to "18"

'allo boys and gals,

Right. Here's the deal:

In the bar I run now, I've got this horrendous ugly sh1tty eyesore of a window-wall that is 9 foot by 18 foot, approx.

I've got a chappy sitting on me right who's next terms president of the Society and he agrees we need to change this ugly behemoth that is even uglier than most of you put together.

Unbelievable as that may be.

So, what do you DIY hacks, construction pros and armchair philosophers suggest?

Regards,

Kayo.

:o

Paint it all black, cover it with camoflage netting, disco lights and beer, more beer, beer and drugs and a few sexy ladieeeeees.

Facepaint is optional but recommended.

I thought " windowwall " was an oasis song ??

There is a DIY forum now kayo.... Would you like it there instead?

I don't understand why a window wall should be ugly unless it's those chunky, opaque glass blocks that generally should be reserved for public lavatories and abatoirs.

If it is you could install white tiles and urinals around the rest of the bar to complete the ambience and save the customers the chore of having to go to the gents. The ladies would obviously be given the option at their discretion.

You could paint it depicting the scene inside a Pattaya beer bar, constantly play Hotel California and get a recording of bg's screeching out "Hallo hansum man".

Or you could be boring and hire the local Bob the Builder and have it demolished and bricked up. That would then give you the entirely different problem of what to do with an ugly brick wall but at least a dart board would hang quite nicely.

Is it a supporting wall Kayo?

Do you have a piccie?

Give us some more clues to it's functionality. i.e. does it have to be there because it seperates 2 rooms?

"There is a big wall....we don't like it.....what should we do?"

Come on kayo.......paint us a better picture....or better yet POST a picture....or at least describe it minimally......interior wall, exterior wall, lavatory wall, retaining wall, wing wall, curtain wall, or brick in the wall............wait, that's it......stand back about 3 metres and throw another brick in the wall....that should take care of it.

Chownah

Hold on... surely the big pink elephant serving drinks would take their mind off it :o

He probably doesn't like blokes peering in and saying " Hey that's the Pink Hefferlump from Thai Visa '. ruins the street cred with the ladies !!!

SBK, I didn't know there was a DIY forum. Yes Please! (I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I'd start with me most trusted fellow bedlamites.)

Guys'n'gals, thanks for the suggestions.

As I don't have me own camera, I will endeavour to get one of my punters to take some pics this evening and post them up here.

Thank you!

As I don't have me own camera,

Ah that's what it's about. He's touting for a Christmas present. Very subtle Kayo, very subtle indeed :o

Birthday actually... Btw, I've seen there's a birthday thread, but I thought I'd wait and open it on my birthday.

I couldn't do that, i'd have to open it and sellotape it back together again :o

Kayo, I'll start it over again in the DIY forum for you.

Kayo's window thread is here for the more handily inclined of you who would like to give a serious answer :o

Ok, click SBK's link if you want to see the offending window.

thanks sbk.

no problem, you've gotten some pretty good answers in there :o

Personally speaking, I can't see anything wrong with the window itself, it's what you can see through the window that needs sprucing up.
