!!!!!!!!! I suppose!!!!!!!!! did you have a good day? !!!

If you "bin" there, and the Isuzu you enjoy mak mak, just buy it

Seriously, ahem, consider the Toyota option, then buy as you please, there are lots of considerations as to which is "best".........

Triton, looks better, engines better, interiors better.

No contest for me.

A good friend of mine who has absolutely no money problems has a raggedy old Isuzu four wheel drive that he bought new. It is a rattle trap. It has 285,000 kilometers on it. I asked him when he was going to break down and buy a decent vehicle. He says when this one dies, I'll buy another one.

I'd say anything BUT a Toyota. WAY over rated.

Maybe by some but also under rated by some..

Generaly speaking they are extremely reliable.

Nobody can argue with that.

The taxi's in Bangkok are almost all Toyota's and many of these have around 200.000 and 400.000 km on the clock and still running.

I bought the triton 3.2 a year ago, last month my friend bought the Issuzi Highlander 2 .5 we are both happy with our vehicles so its horses for courses

I reckon the auto box on the Toyota is slightly better than the D-Max (I have a D-Max 3.0L auto) but there is not a lot in it really. As for power, the VGS D-Max is higher rated than mine (mine is 2WD). D-Max is not small rather that the Vigo is bigger (can be an issue).

I've driven mine for a few months now and I'm happy but with a full range to choose from you'll find something.

Hi peterd1961

I have seen the new D Max Gold edition with the new engine but can see no details about the 4wd GT model you mentioned,on any Isuzu websites. Can you shed a little light on this model and/or quote a link to show details

I assume this is a model available in Thailand ?

Thanks Dave

Hmm.. that could be a while.. When I go to the Isuzu dealer they have this mini hall of fame of people and their trucks that broke 1 million kms.. They get like a free T-shirt and umbrella and their picture taken. :o

If you take care of an Isuzu (or any Thai truck for that matter), they keep going forever.

Oh and on the Gold edition: I don't think it has a different engine from all the other ones.. The i-Teq engine that's been in the since the first minor facelift, now 2-3 years ago I guess.

I understand that the Gold series has the new(ish) VGS engine only previously available on the top of the range 4*4 models. I would have got it but not available on 4*2 6 months ago.

This car differs from the D-Max LS in:

- another grill

- protection strips at the doors

- GT-logo's

- Kenwood DVD/MP3 player

Costs approx. 845,000 THB (+ 12,000 THB)

And this one. Special look on the Spacecab.

Hi Petch01

Is the above price for MANUAL or AUTO?

I have infront of me the Isuzu pricelist given to me yesterday and it says :-

CAB4 4x4 3.0 VGS Auto T is 869,000 (+ 12,000THB for GT spec) = 881,000THB

CAB4 4x4 3.0 VGS Man T is 829,000 (+ 12,000THB for GT spec) = 841,000THB

Can you explain this, cos I'm ordering one tomorrow. Can you confirn if you refer to M/T and not A/T and do you have DOCUMENTARY PROOF/For where.

I may be able to use it in discussions tomorrow. I have PM'd you as an early reply would be appreciated

THANKS

DAVE

Dave,

The price I mentioned was the price for the LS 3.0 VGS M/T (price 833,000 THB, 26-10-'07) + 12,000 THB.

Good luck,

Petch01

The list for my 3.0L Highlander 4 cab auto was 792k I think. 40k was for the auto. I forget what the 4*4 was but not an option for me due to the much higher deposit requirement, even in a Thai name.
