Wifi Ups And Downs

got WiFi at home, it is actually an older model ASUS card that is designed to work with the mainboard in the "server". 11 Mbps. I know, there is much faster stuff available now, but it does the trick.

What irritates me, is that if both, server and laptop are freshly booted it works very well and I can watch on the laptop videos in CD quality directly from the server. Once the server is running for a while, the quality of the connection deteriorates and it is just good for internet. After restarting the server, I can watch streaming videos again...

Thanks to NetSetMan I am on a fix IP, so DHCP hassles are ruled out.

problem persists...now also with freshly rebooted latop and server...any idea what this could be?
