Despite hectic days in his regular job as a hotel employee, Komsan Ratchataphan still has time to spare in the early evenings when he spends it wisely making herbal soaps. He also spends his spare time doing research study, experimenting and produce better herbal soap products from ingredients surrounding his home. His products are under the name ‘Budhachad herbal soap by nature’. Curcuma, special fragrant rice, peels of mangosteen, chilies, papaya and several other types of herbal plants are transformed to be main ingredients for his soap. Each of them has its own value to human skin.

Komsan also makes the best use of local cash crops like pineapple and cashew nut juice to make soap. He shows us a patent, issued by the Department of Intellectual Properties to certify his soap product made from natural juice of cashew nuts and local pineapple. These soaps are also chemical–free. Komsan had been through the trial and error period before his achievement today. He emphasized that in today’s life, people are exposed too much to chemical. He also wishes to establish more community networks of producers. Starting from soap bars, Komsan now introduces liquid soap with rich herbal essence and value.

These are soap bars made from butterfly pea and egg-yolk. He proudly explains that it is a new invention, easy to carry, especially aboard an airplane. By word of mouth, it became a favorite product among foreigners who tend to use more non-chemical and fragrant free soap products. He now has regular customers in France. After testing out markets this year, Komsan has a plan to open his own business shop next year under the brand 'Budhachaad soap by nature'. His websites are www.budhachad.com (in English) and www.thammachaat.com (in Thai).
