SamuiBond Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 As you watch these few channels and see political-, money- and country "specialists" or "experts" giving comments about politics, money, people and so forth, what do you think it would take to become one that could give BBC and the likes "professional" comments about Samui? Use your imagination and write in: "I could be Samui Specialist because..." or "Requirements of Samui Specialist would be..." forms.

This Specialist should be able to sell my business and find me a business that will keep me going in my semi retirement. But if my business is not working, who will you sell it too, cause then your not the specialist to that person you sell it to are you. If i could just find out who makes those Hot Cakes that TAX was talking about.
PoorSucker Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Try to get work permit as Samui specialist. Easier to get WP as Samui special
Dingojoe Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 As you watch these few channels and see political-, money- and country "specialists" or "experts" giving comments about politics, money, people and so forth, what do you think it would take to become one that could give BBC and the likes "professional" comments about Samui? Use your imagination and write in: "I could be Samui Specialist because..." or "Requirements of Samui Specialist would be..." forms. A Samui Specialist should be some who you can email or call and refer you to, for example: A person who can repair my roof. Someone who cleans windows like mine that are 3 stories up and no access from the inside of the house. Someone who knows the guy who can install a booster router so that i can get internet on the roof balcony. Some one who knows the law so you can ask advice. Wow who would this someone be? IS THIS GOING TO BE YOUR NEW CAREER SamuiBond? I guess if Mark BBC knew from this specialist when he was buying BBC he could have said - yes we will close this deal as soon as those squatters are off that land next door, otherwise as advised by my Specailist I should not buy this restaurant.

Forgot his name.. Winston 'The Wolf' Wolfe - Harvey Keitel. He wold be a very usefull person to know on this island
SamuiBond Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 Ok. Think about this for a moment: (live BBC coverage) Winston The Wolf, Samui Specialist, how would you describe current political/financial/girly/party/tourist/booze/squatter/villa development/business... situation in Samui? I bet he would just dig up his baretta and finish the conversation...lol. Although Sly Stallone played Specialist in that poor movie that's not the kind of specialist I was looking for. Nice development though.
highdiver Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 specialists are usualy self proclaimed.... they are used by TV news to fill in air time and create a sense of importance to an issue. kind of what this thread is doing.... the ones TV are ususaly from some institution that no one realy heard of but they sound realy important. something like the center of stratigic security alliances , or , the institute of geo-economical trends. so if you would like to be a Samui specialist ....take the following steps. first rent a small shop or appartment in one of the small back streets in Nathon better yet in Thong krut. then register your self as an academic mission. or a NPO. Then sit down and find a good name something that rings important.....here are a few. The center for Samui inter cultural diversity studies. The Samui institution of stratigic social development. The Koh Samui centre for socio-economical policy assesment. now that you have name you need to give a definition that would convince the tv viewr that you are as serious as the tv presents you. someting in the lines of : an independent professional association dedicted at monitoring the full anthropolitical spectrum and diversity of the socio-economical trends. now you are a samui Specialist.... The TV scene will be as follows....... Joining us now for more details is Mr Jonesy Luvbeer. the head of The Koh Samui centre for socio-economical policy assesment. an independent professional association dedicted at monitoring the full anthropolitical spectrum and diversity of the socio-economical trends. Good morning Mr Luvbeer. what can you tell us about the situation in BBC.........
sbk Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 NPO?? Do you mean NGO or is this some new designation?
highdiver Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 NPO?? Do you mean NGO or is this some new designation? excatly..

Sounds like a no brainer. Where do I sign in? And yeah, the old fashion Q: Do I need work permit?
Mark Wolfe Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Someone with many years experience and a broad range of interests, who speaks Thai. To be honest, there are not many "experts" in anything, but they do exist. I think Samui is a very big and varied place to be expert in (or a specialist), but I am sure that there are some foreigners here who really know their stuff -- real all-rounders. Of course, there are native Samuians who could part the curtain of mystery regarding the goings-on here... As for Mr. Wolfe and being a fixer...PM me for those nasty jobs. But I don't come cheap.
