I have a 5,000 boat and aluminum trailer (additional 2,000 lb.?) and a Fortuner 2.7 that will probably just pull the boat into and out of the water on a boat ramp. Which is the strongest, cheapest Thai-made vehicle for towing a boat such as this on long distance trips? Thanks for your feedback with your opinions and trailer pulling experiences.

My boat will be about the same, not sure about the trailer though.

I to have a 2.7 Fortuner and i can get it out of the water quite easily.

I have to admit that its easier with my 4*4 Vigo.

The engine just has more power then the Fortuner has.

3.0L 4*4 Vigo or the 3.0L VGS Isuzu 4*4. Both similar prices. Mid 800's I think, with auto another 40k.

I know 2.7 fortuner's are cheap but I can assure you they are no match for the 3.0 DIESEL for towing a boat.

If you tow get a diesel and you will be happier. Friend of mine towed a 30 foot boat on a trailer from Pattaya to Hua Hin no problem!

Oh if you use lowrange also thing should happen easier!
