Many Vista user ackknowledge that the speed of copying Data with Vista is very slow, other haven't any problem! But what's forcing the problems?

There is an report (which you should read) on theregister.co.uk about the Vista speed. Reading that report opens more additional questions than answers!

But the real question are: Why that's happens on some (many) Computer and other's (not that many) don't having problems?

Is it because of buggy programming of Vista? Is it Hardware or Software related?

What's the experiences the TV Members having?

It would be interesting to get to know what you guy's have to tell about it! Even it's interesting to know what Hardware and additional Software you are using. And if you feel some differences after installing some software and which software that is!

Vista is an absloute nightmare for copying files sometime it take like 2mins or more to copy 20mb..generally im finding that vista is buggy full stop the only problem is once you put vista on it is just that much better than XP in graphics and features that you dont want to go back..hopefully all will be resolved in SP1 when it is realeased...

ow and how stupid is UAC!!!!

Reimer,

Have updated VISTA Ultimate 64 with SP1 (thanks for the link) and my complaints with VISTA remain the same as they have been all along. I don't blame Microsoft fully since the problems mainly relate to other software that won't run or runs with partial success, ie scanner or printer not working within the software. Programs like Paper Port that have been very important do not work because Nuance wants to sell me big time upgrade at just about the same cost as VISTA itself. Same with Nero and availibility of drivers such as Canon not providing drivers for VISTA, Webcams that work with some software and not with others, which is not a VISTA problem as such, but with Yahoo since they have some rather archaic attributes that exclude certain Webcams from working. So I suspect Microsoft is getting hit for issues that are really the failure of other suppliers to get with a reasonable program to provide the necessary updated drivers etc and insist on doubling the cost of making things work, if in fact that particular software or hardware will ever work with VISTA.

Overall I do not find VISTA to be as fast as XP and the eye candy associated with VISTA does nothing for me, so at this time my net is that since I have bought and paid for legitimate VISTA Ultimate 64 I will continue to use it and at the same time keep my XP dual boot updated because XP is at this time a more complete operating system than is VISTA.

Thanks for all the information you supply to the TV web forum, and rest assured that your contributions are appreciated.
