Tot Line - Different Adsl Service Provider?

Featured Replies

I have a TOT line (no choice only company with a line available in my area) and the ADSL conection keeps droping out and can be VERY slow.

My question : Can i have a different ADSL provider and who is the best in the Pattaya area (price/speed)

TIA

I asked Maxnet some months ago and they said I had to have TOT. Or at keast they said they could / would have nothing to do with me !

I think you can get both csloxinfo and KSC on your TOT line.

Unlike with TT&T, where they can arrange an ISP of your choice right at the TT&T office, you'll have to inquire at csloxinfo's and KSC's office.

Not sure where you are, but their offices in Pattaya are on third road right behind TOT's corner. KSC is almost on the opposite side of csloxinfo... I think it requires quite some paperwork so that TOT allows the ISP to use their lines (and get paid for it!)

Maxnet is the ISP owned by TT&T and as such obviously is not available on a TOT line!

If you thinking to fix the lost of signal (No connection, for a few minutes) by switching to another ISP on the same telephone line, I can say "It would not fix a thing".

Why is that, other ISP like KSC or Loxinfo..etc, will use the same infrastructure (telephone lines and POT's) as ToT and therefore the aDSL signal on the telephone line would not increase or get better. It sometimes helps to switch to a 3th party ISP as ToT sells a service to the 3th party ISP and the 3th party ISP can request a extra POT near your location.

But if you the lone-some-wolf in the rice field you can forget it, as the 3th party ISP need to pay also for the POT
