Knob end.

:D

Not mincing your words there Jockstar.

He's straight to the point our mod :bah:

Chavy is running for a Mods position. See his earlier posts. :bah:

Scouse, he's from your neck of the woods 9barton), so is he pretty disliked in his own area? Trouble just seems to follow him everywhere he goes.

He's an intelligent enough lad ( he was in the year below me at school ) , but he hangs out with a naughty bunch of lads. He cant keep using that excuse now though , he's not a kid anymore :o .

Maybe spending New Years Eve in the slammer will do him a bit of good .

Still a <deleted>. See what he would do if he got booted out of NU. :D :D :D

Barton is due in court in the Spring / Summer over the alledged training ground assault add the incident with Dunne in Bangkok, the lit cigar butt in a youth team players eye oh and it was his step brother who murdered in cold blood a young black lad with an axe.

As a City fan I hope he gets what he deserves, banged up and fuc_ked off as a footballer.

Total and utter scum!

Half brother , not step brother.

Joey was instumental in getting his brother ( hiding in Holland ) to give himself up to the police.

It's about time he grew up, and maybe if he had a better advisor then he would stay away from the scallies.

Think he is pretty much in last chance saloon.

And to think that Joey Barton had the cheek to have a go at the NUFC fans a few weeks back ... seems like he wants to fight everyone at the moment. Don't fancy his chances against the Sid James Park faithful.

I don't fancy his chances of staying at St James Park. I think a spot overseas may be a good idea.

Maybe he could go over and play "soccer" with the "septics" and hang out with some of the local cowboys. :o He might even make George Bush look bright. :D

There are several interesting video interviews in addition to Joey Bartons.

Look in the right hand column and his is the second one on the list.

Me, i wasn,t impressed and thought at the time he was a time bomb waiting to activate.

I watched hoping to see a good side of his character, i like to think there is a lot of hype in the stories but i,m sorry to say i concluded...............

A definite no brainer i,m sad to say and appears to be a lad with big problems ahead of him.

Another waste of what is seemingly, A very talented footballer who,s energies are are used in a negative fashion and he appears to not give a shit about it.

Good health and good luck for 2008 to all football supporters, whoever your team is, so long as you are peaceful and sporting about it.

I think there is a very real chance that he could spend a few months inside. Not neccessarily for this offence (although affray is considered serious) but with these other cases that he is on bail for. There is only a certain number of times you can go to the well :D .

5.8 mill looks like money well received :D

Yeah, that would be my understanding of the CJS, although I think you have a little more experience with that JD, I just used to lock them up after your service had charged them. I was speaking to old man earlier about this (he is a JP), and he said that he will certainly go down for this, but hey maybe money will talk, but I suspect that they have a great opportunity to make an example out of him and will tis time.

Ferguson warns partying players

Source: BBC

Sir Alex Ferguson has warned his Manchester United players they face the axe if they step out of line again.

The Old Trafford manager's comments come in the wake of the lurid headlines which have followed the players' infamous Christmas party.

Ferguson said: "Football has changed but you cannot lose your control.

"We make changes here at Manchester United when we see anyone interfering with that control. When we see this it's time for them to go."

Ferguson has until now refused to comment on the party which lead to player Jonny Evans being arrested and he is said to be furious at the unwanted headlines the pre-Christmas event attracted.

What annoys me about some footballers today is the personal glory thing

The Scot, whose team surrendered top spot in the Premier League to Arsenal with their shock 2-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday, added: "Times have changed for me as a manager.

"But this club is based on everyone together. When anyone starts going off at tangents you have to make changes."

Ferguson, who turns 66 on Monday, also accused some of today's top players of being selfish and being obsessed with a celebrity culture.

"What annoys me about some footballers today is the personal glory thing," he added.

"They score a goal and knock players out of the road so they can get personal gratification and play to the fans.

"The present day footballer needs to be noticed with his ear-rings and tattoos. But people in general need to be noticed, it's not just footballers.

"They don't go to small, intimate restaurants, they go to places that are big and bright where you are seen and get noticed. It is difficult to control."

However, Ferguson insisted he has no intention of relinquishing his control of the club, even though November 2008 will see him complete 22 years in charge.

"Absolutely no doubt about that, retirement is not on the agenda," he said.

"The potential of this group of players is the best I have ever had. There is great enthusiasm about the place, a great team spirit and a good drive."

Regardless of what club you support, I think that a lot of managers should look at how Ferguson deals with his players. They tend to only get one or two warniongs, and he doesn't make excuses for "moronic" behaviour. My own feeling is that Joey Barton has been allowed to get away with a little to much over the past couple of years with very little consequence. Let's face it, footballers can't keep hiding behind th "young lad" excuse.

Barton to stay in jail

Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton will remain in custody after magistrates refused to grant him bail.

Barton was arrested by Merseyside Police in Liverpool on 27th December following an incident in the city centre.

He was later charged with common assault and affray and has missed Newcastle's last two games.

Barton has now appeared before Liverpool magistrates via video link from prison.

During the hearing the assault charge against him was upgraded from a Section 39 common assault to a Section 47 assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A further bail application is understood to be scheduled for later on Thursday, when Barton's defence lawyers will aim to convince a crown court there is no danger of him reoffending.

If bail is again refused Barton will stay in jail until his case is heard again on 16th January.

Apparently he's not so tough now he's in with some real thugs.....

Reminds me of a time when I used to train in Muay Thai, after the Wednesday nights session we used to have a drink in the local pub, a local football team would also frequent this place.

The only trouble we ever saw in there was started by a few gob shites from the football team. The usual big headed morons, on occasion they would take the piss out of the wrong lad and end up eating humble pie. What is it about football that turns these people into prize <deleted>?

I would imagine there would be rather stringent bail conditions.

It wouldnt surprise me if he was bailed to the rehabillitation centre that Peter Kay runs.

I would be surprised if he is going to be playing football in the very near future :o

Judge bails Joey Barton to sporting clinic

43F382ED-A3CD-C3F4-33DB37FE27E203EF.jpg

HUYTON-BORN footballer Joey Barton was released from jail last night after being bailed by a judge.

The 25-year-old Newcastle United and England midfielder made no comment as he passed through the gates of Liverpool Prison into a waiting car.

Barton, of Widnes, Cheshire, had been in prison since he was charged with assault and affray last Friday.

He, his brother and a friend, were arrested in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Thursday morning following a complaint to police by city centre CCTV operators

http://' target="_blank">

It is alleged the group were involved in two incidents following a confrontation at a McDonalds restaurant in Church Street, Liverpool, at 5.30am.

Barton was twice refused bail by Liverpool magistrates but Judge David Swift, sitting in chambers at Liverpool Crown Court, later agreed bail.

Barton’s solicitor Daniel Weed said: “Mr Joseph Barton has been granted bail with conditions until he appears at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on January 16.”

Bail conditions were not revealed.

Barton, wearing the black jumper he was arrested in, a grey top and jeans, left prison at 6pm.

He climbed into a silver Audi A6 and sat in the rear with Mr Weed. At the wheel was Peter Kay, chief executive of the Sporting Chance clinic in Hampshire, who offered bail accommodation and supervision at the clinic to the footballer at an earlier hearing.

Members of Barton’s family were also outside in cars along with some members of the public.

One man showed off a mobile phone picture which appeared to show a shirtless Barton in the jail’s gymnasium with his arm around a fellow inmate.

The man refused to identify himself or the other prisoner, who he said was a friend on remand.

He claimed to have been told during a visit that Barton had been a regular at the gym where he led circuit training sessions.

Barton, who is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray, will next appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

The court also decided that a charge of criminal damage against Barton, following an incident in a taxi in March 2005, will also be heard that day.

He will appear with Andrew Barton, 19, of Widnes, who is charged with actual bodily harm and affray, and Nadine Wilson, 27, from Huyton, who is charged with common assault and affray.

Sporting Chance was founded in 2000 by ex- England soccer star and alcoholic Tony Adams.

It is based on a concept of “holistic recovery for mind, body and spirit”.

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Sporting Chance is located in a Georgian house within the 158 acre grounds of the Champneys health spa at Forest Mere, near Liphook, Hants, in a secluded area away from the main resort complex.

Clients stay in the house and undergo rehabilitation programmes using the main health spa complex for gym work, swimming and saunas.

Barton first attended the centre in 2006 for anger management training.
