I would be interested to hear your views on the shot attached.

I DELIBERATELY sought to avoid sharpness. This animal was ripping backwards and forwards along the rope and it occurred to me than any attempt at freezing his (?) movement would destroy this energy. I ditched the monopod and elected to handhold at 1/30th knowing full well that I'd get a "blurring" image. It's easy to pan and flash and freeze the main subject against a blurred background, but this technique never really projects "movement" in my eyes.

Some days I love it, some days I hate it!

What do you think?

Canon 5D - 80-200 L - 1/30th @ f5.6

I actually really like it, would have loved it if his face was showing. It seems that area on the back of his head is the most focused and just his face reasonably sharp and the rest blurred would have been a really good look.

I would have liked to see the back-ground clear and the movement as is like this:-

I do silly ones every now and again.

Kan Win :o

It does not work for me.

I find the blurred background too confusing, but it does concentrate the mind on the animal. :o

Your shot and KanWin's, show that we should never be afraid to experiment,

the results can be quite amazing.
