Hi Tubber, is Nakhon Sakhon a small town?

I presume you mean Sakhon Nakhon and Tubber is dyslexic too. :D

SN is not a big town, but a nice size medium provincial city, with just about everything you need for a goodlife, without the farangs, crowds and traffic jams of larger Issaan cities like Khon Kaen, Udon or Khorat.

It is on the edge of a large lake called Nong Han, which gives some nice views of a sunset, and has an airport, regular buses to BKK and rest of Thailand, and good roads north, south, east and west. It lacks much in the way of farang-style nightlife, but there are some reasonable bars and nightclubs nevertheless. It also has some good restaurants, and a really handy eatery next to the bus station called Green Corner, which has good service, coffee and a bakery too. The Phu Phan national park is nearby and the Mekong banks not so far away. I liked it. :o

I live near Sakon Nakhon too [Kok Si Suphan]and l like it there. Its got all the Big superstores like Big C, Tescos, and Macro and you don't seem to get "ripped off" as you do at larger Cities.

Hi Moni 76,

You seem stressing a lot if we consider the number of threads you launch on Sakhon Nakhon.

Sakhon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom are nice provincial cities, not turbulent: your blood pressure should go down seriously here: cool, people are very pleasant and friendly, but their english is poor (For the French it is worse I am on an other planet!!!!).

No major issue, cool down and welcome in our communauty
