i have just bought myself a new laptop and have installed firefox which i really like. but when i get a yahoo icon on the bottom of the screen telling me that i have email, the interner explorer launches when i click on the mail icon.

can anyone tell me how i make firefox my default web browser? and how i get rid of internet explorer? bloody horrible thing that is.

Open Firefox.

Click Tools

Click Options

Always Check That Firefox is your default browser on Start Up.

Click Check Now

Click Yes.

yeah, i did that already. i think i will re-install firefox as i am using a beta version apparently. will see how i go with it this time.

ok. i reinstalled the non beta and all is well.

but NOW....the font in the URL line at the top is something like courier and is really small. how do i change the appearance of that? i thought i knew how, but was wrong.
