WHAT IS YOOWALK? Walk around the web!

A new Project/Experiment in 3D surfing! Looks like interesting. Question is: How much Resource, Speed etc. will be need?!

YOOWALK is a representation of the worldwide web as a 3D world where you can :

• Browse the web in 3D with your avatar
  
• Build a 3D version of your website
  
• Have your own room in 3D
  
• Meet people and hang out with them
  

YOOWALK is organized by villages, grouping websites and brands by areas of interest. When you walk down the streets in one of these villages, you thus see schematic buildings that represent the major websites on a particular subject. You walk around the web !

We call these buildings "walksites". Walksites are 3D representations of websites. Walking around these walksites is thus a new way of surfing a website. You will enjoy the experience of navigating intuitively in these sites, and meeting other people who are interested by the same content at the same time.

For this beta version, walksites are still rudimentary. In future versions, we will improve the tools to enable you to create walksites that will include more and richer elements of websites.

Your appearance in YOOWALK is called an avatar. Change your gender, clothes, apparel, etc. as often as you want.

For this beta version, avatars are still rudimentary. In future versions, we will enable you to completely create your appearance, whether you want to look like a cowboy, a Buddhist monk, a blub or Darth Vador !

You can create your own accommodation in YOOWALK.

At first we offer you the possibility to create and decorate a room. Select objects, import pictures, insert videos from the web. You can then invite your friends to party in your room… For this beta version, you have the right for a single room, with a limited set of objects. In future versions, we will offer you the possibility to configure a whole apartment, with tools to design your own furniture, etc.

If you want to set up your own house, ie your own walksite, it is quite simple. Go to the DEVELOPERS menu at the bottom of this page.

Likewise, if you represent a business or a website, and that you want to create your own walksite, or take back the hand on a walksite that we have created based on your website, it is very simple. Go to the DEVELOPERS menu at the bottom of this page. This menu explains the addresses, the auction process, and the tools to configure easily your walksite.

One last important point : we are at the beginning of a long journey to build a world that we hope will give full satisfaction to Yoowalkers. You can help us improve YOOWALK by reporting bugs and suggesting improvements. Any help and idea are welcome ! Simply go to the CONTACT menu at the bottom of this page. Use also the CONTACT section to flag any inappropriate content or misbehavior that you might encounter.
