Yep

He pretty much has been allowed to ruin this sub-forum.

You just have to look at the lack of posts by others who used to frequently post.

That would make me one, haven't been on this forum because of his posts.

You're not the Lone Ranger either.

Dame shame because we all used to contribute and receive good information from this post which has been around for over a decade.

That said, it only takes one persistent tool to annoy everyone to finally pull the pin.

The overall loss is to ASEAN NOW, but who am I to tell them how to run their forum, easy to just exit.

Blocking doesn't help anyone in the long run, just allows the nuisance to go on unchecked, you unwittingly condone the garbage IMO.

He has single-handedly destroyed a two-decade body of shared knowledge on the Australian Aged Pension.

Blocking works only if everyone does it.

We’ve all known for years he’s a troll. The reason he’s still here isn’t because blocking fails — it’s because it isn’t collective.

A few people keep replying, quoting him, reposting his nonsense, and calling it “keeping him in check.” That’s not containment — it’s amplification. It puts his garbage back on the page for everyone else.

OK but keep in mind that it's very easy to permnently block him and see all the other worthwhile comments which often have important points.

I blocked him several years ago but I still check any / all other comments, maybe there's other points, on the same / linked subject which I need to know.

No need to go total block or remove all of AseanNow (not sure if that's even possible, but not needed anyway).

And there's many other subjects on AseanNow which provide good information and a good way to have a daily running thread of all Thailand news and a good summary of Internatioal news.

Sure point taken. There's also the point that over the years many respected posters have 'replied' to his rubbish / wrong & very wrong comments and added correct information re the point at hand. I have many times.

How do you know that

I know, because at the height of the debate, trolling, flaming, abuse, personal attacks etc, within 2 minute after I posted, a Mod was on the thread. Members kept reporting my posts. Pretty obvious.

no paycheck

Well, still a pension paycheck, just 30% less, because the loophole for non residents will be closed and it's 30% from $0 to $120,000. 🙂

Another one of your more articulate(non) and helpful posts!

You haven't posted on this thread out of embarrassment and shame.

The last time you posted, you declared Article 18 of the Australia / Thailand DTA meant no tax on pensions.

When it was pointed out to you, and not just by myself, that Article 18 relied on Article 19, and Article 19 basically stated the pensions covered by the DTA were "service pensions" and not the aged pension, your reply post was, and I quote, "Forget about Article 19." Yes, just simply forget about Article 19. 😂

That was up there with the Paul Hogan and Medicare Card posts. Too funny.

You were begging me to post by asking me to "come out and play" and because I hadn't for a day or so you proudly posted that must have went away "with my tail between my legs." You were hoping for some type of victory. I remember giving you rope, and more rope, and more rope, and then I posted links showing it clearly only covered service pensions.

It's you who scurried away with your tail between your legs after that, when you learnt Article 18 and Article 19 of the DTA only covers services pensions. Talk about celebrate too early. 🤣

I found your posts to lack any information of substance, but certainly humorous.

Welcome back. 🙂

If you have a look, the Australia Forum doesn't have much activity in general.

Geez, no one even started a thread about the Bondi massacre.

Rubbish.

The thread just had the same question over and over, and was, the 2 year re-establishing residency for pension portability.

Or give misleading or inaccurate information as you frequently did.

You are back posting. So no loss to AN. 😂

Blocking someone is also a way to miss the rubbish.

I encouraged people to block me, but they just couldn't keep away from the pack mentality.

To see the psychology behind it unravel online was quite interesting.

So you did report me. I knew it. 😂

No, all 240 pages are still here.

You are welcome to share some knowledge. Go ahead. What's the latest, the overseas phone number for Centerlink? 😂

None of this is on topic, but I'll play along.

Can you share your knowledge about 2 year portability? What's the lasted news on it? 😂

You are the one that got found out for posting you were on an aged pension, and then down the track you posted you were on a vet's pension. You can't be on both.

Credibility zero, but I know you like to post phone numbers. You've posted the Hobart number about 20 times. 😂

Why did you just post a quote of your own post?

I have posted link after link after link, and numerous youtube videos, and quote after quote. The majority of the links are from credible sources like the ATO, Centerlink, Immigration etc.

Just recently I posted a link showing expats who receive a pension need to file a tax return. Same old story, shoot the messenger, don't discuss the information in the link because it's just too horrible to think about. 🙂

Unfortunately, going by the last 40 minutes, it appears no-one has done so. Maybe a more pro-active approach might have more success?

It's been done before. Those people know who they are, and it says more about them than it does about me.

Go ahead treetops, hit the report button, but just be sure yours posts are on topic first. 🙂

There's nothing wrong with being truthful, accurate, factual, and informative, and posting links to back up my posts.

If you don't like the reality of government policy and legislation, particularly when it comes to taxation, why troll the person who posts about it. What does it achieve?
