Hello to everyone in this forum,

i am reading your happy and some times sad stories a lot even i am not posting so much.

However, i am bulgarian citizen and planning to marry to a thai woman in Bangkok, so she could apply for a visa and come to live with me(if she get a visa).

I would like to know if someone with good experience can recommend me a really good Amphur office in Bangkok to make the marriage certificate and to ask them what documents they will need from me.

Thank you in advance

I think the amphur offices are pretty much all the same. However, before you marry, you will need to get an affirmation of freedom to marry from the Bulgarian embassy in Bangkok, have this translated in to Thai and authenticated by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before you actually get married.

Scouse.

Thank you,

one of the documents that the Amphur wants is a document of a 2 person that i know with their names and adresses in my country. The town hall from my home town said they can not make this paper, so can i write this down by myself and hand it to the amphur or should be official document?

Regards,

Embassy of Bulgaria in Bangkok, Thailand - 33/15, Soi Charoenchai, Sukhumvit 63, Prakhanong, Bangkok 10110. Tel: 3916180-1. Fax: 3916182

As the District Office (Amphur) will be expecting a Ministry of Foreign Affairs certified translation of your Embassy document for a marriage I would contact your Embassy and find out exactly what they need to provide you this. I would not count on documents from your home country being accepted directly.

In Bangkok Bang Rak is the best place for foreigners as they are used to the process and most Thai consider it lucky to register there marriage there (District of Love).

Just mentioned this to the Wife and she tells me she doesn't believe in this; she knows too many people who married there and are now divorced. :o
