Udon Broadband

Featured Replies

I will be spending a fair bit of time at the new pile in Udon this year. I searched for threads on how broadband market penetration is going in Udon and the most recent post was last November.

So, does anyone know if ADSL (ToT or CAT) is available about 1km east of the eastern ring road, more specifically on the road to Baan Nong Sai but not quite as far as First Home Estate?

As an enabler, I will need the phone line first of course. Anyone have recent experience getting a new phone line installed? Waiting lists? Costs? Reliability, etc?

Many thanks,

Not sure whether it helps (not your area), but I am south of the ring road, and a lot further out than that.

Got the phone line about 2 months ago after waiting about a year or so for a new switch to be put in.

Just signed up for ADSL. 1Mb/s and 600B a month and it will be switched on Tuesday.

There was an offer of a free router, but they have none ...... :o

Don't know if it help:on the Sakon-Nakhon Rd,4-5Km outside the ringroad,we have now since 3 moths ADSL from ToT(after a looong waiting time).

Speed theoretically from 500K to 1.5 M,normally we are lucky if we have half that, and some interruptions in the service.Only the price doesn't change,500 to 1K Baht. :o

I'm living about 500 m east of First Home.

Telephone with ToT ADSL. About 700 BHT/month.

Thanks maipasat. Did you have to wait long for the installation of the phone line or was it already in your abode and just needed connecting up and paying for? My new place is finished but I won't be back there till end of Feb so wondering if I need to get the wife onto it laew-laew.

It's just a rental for the while I building my own house, so the the phone was there.

I'm also back in end of Feb, so maybe catch up for a beer?

I live not so far out as MAIPASARTHAI but on the northern tip of Ban Dong Udom (the first village on the Nong Sai road, about 800m from the ringroad) and have a good connection there.

The TT&T office half way down Soi Nong Bua organised the line installation with virtually no waiting (and no bung either !!),

then provided the maxnet package, 700 baht a month, first 3 months free. Never gone wrong, no complaints
