Bangkok joins drive to reduce alcohol consumption during Chinese New Year

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Governor Apirak Kosayothin, joined by Secretary-General of the Anti Drunk Driving foundation Doctor Ta-jing Siripanich (แท้จริง ศิริพานิช) presided over the opening ceremony of a drive to reduce drunk driving and alcohol consumption during the Chinese New Year.

The BMA is aiming to reduce drunk driving related accidents during the occasion with the Anti Drunk Driving foundation preparing 30 thousand blessed tokens of a spiritual system to be distributed to citizens.

The foundation hopes that citizens will be reminded by the tokens when driving to be more wary and not consume alcohol.

Mr. Apirak also urged citizens to beware of fire hazards during the Chinese New Year as the festivities many times have resulted in blazes.
