Shock Absorbers And Suspension

I have had a NGV conversion done on my car and the tank is extremely heavy. its a 2007 Honda Civic. what these NGV people did is to lift the car at the back with some rubber thing attached to the shocks. going above bumps and things like that, it seems that something is hitting the car where the shocks are.

are there special shock absorbers and suspensions out there to cater to these kinds of situations with really heavy backs? i am living in chiang mai and would appreciate if you could point me to the right direction of a professional who could advice me.

I'm not sure about your situation, as heavier springs are (usually) lowered. Eibach springs are available for about 9000 baht a set, but they are about 30-40mm lowered. They are stiffer than standard though. Changing the shockabsorbers: you can try koni yellows (with adjustable dampling rate), for about 25000 for a set of 4. Then there are coilover sets, such as the tein sper street damper for about 36000 for a set of 4. These are prices I got for my enquiries for a honda civic 2.0 (2004 model). However I don't have lpg. I don't know if there are 'heavy duty' springs available here that are the standard height, as most people want to lower their rides for better road holding.

hi culicine, that would be more of performance kits that you are looking at. am looking for more heavy duty, well not really per se but something that does the work. a little bit of google and some NGV regional forums and everyone seems to be recommending the Monroe Sensa Trac. a set of two should cost below 4000. Well let me talk to more people and see what they have to say. thanks though.

Your Honda has coil-overs on all four courners. It sounds like they installed a rubber shim between the coils of both rear springs so the coils don't compress so much due to the additional weight. Can you be more specific where the rubber component is mounted? Look for shiny places on the suspension components or the body panels near the suspension. My guess is the the noise you hear are the coil-overs bottoming out. In other words the coils are touching each other when you hit a bump.

A company in the US used to make a set of shocks that had what they called helper springs. I was just a spring that went around the shock itself. They were meant for salesman and people who carried a few hundred pounds in the trunk and NOT for really heavy duty hauling. It appears they would be perfect for a heavy CNG or LPG tank.

try the local brand KAYABA , is not that expensive nd ,

you can also get some modify done at some of the local . shock up ..

do some survey before you install anything .. cos a bad setup will damage your cars more ..

Spring would be a good option but not those racing type spring which usually lower your car.. instead you need a LIFT the cars .

Just wait for the production NGV vehicle to come won't be long. Infact it should have been out by now since plans were couple of years ago.

Just look at the Vigo,were wandering the size and height thats what they actually plan ready for the future, put the 200kgs ngv tank in place

and it's just nice.

Isuzu might also have that in mind already just a matter of the right time to release them on market.

Boidiesel are costing the world too much from their cooking oil, every household is effected by global reccesion from food impossible for automobile industries to accept.

It's not helping out the fuel price as well. Japan and China commercials are using NGV. In the final NGV according to research causes the world least damage and

considering most ecological and economical.

Unfortunately the springs are meant for conventional shocks not coil-overs.
